SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – The Union College women’s hockey team traded in the garnet and white for two games during the end of February last season and donned pink duds as part of Pink at the Rink, a joint venture between ECAC Hockey and the American Cancer Society. The team raised more than $11,700, contributing to the conference’s total of over $55,000.

 

“I was so touched by the amount of effort our community put into the weekend,” said head coach Claudia Asano. “It was unbelievable; the whole athletic department was great and extremely supportive. Our team was a true team. They came together and put forth an effort to raise money for a cause.”

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Kevin Zalaznik has been named assistant sports information director at Union College, Sports Information Director Eric McDowell announced Tuesday. Prior to joining the Union staff, Zalaznik served on the athletic communications staff at Syracuse University.

 

“I am very pleased to have Kevin join our department,” McDowell said. “He has had outstanding experiences in the profession and he has developed extremely well thanks to the direction of the sports information professionals at Ithaca and Syracuse. His skills in publications and media relations will be a benefit to all our student-athletes at Union.”
